Okay... I know we are 0-3. But given the terrible cap situation that Jeff Hafley and Jon-Eric Sullivan inherited, the lads are playing very hard, and it's plain to see that they have clearly bought into Coach Hafley's messaging.

Every week the team has been getting better, and people around the league are noticing too.

• Week 1 vs. Raiders: Pretty terrible, but it was game one and the Raiders are looking solid at 3-0.
• Week 2 vs. 49ers: Clear improvement shown against a elite 3-0 football team.
• Week 3 vs. Chiefs: Until the 4th quarter, we played a fantastic game—especially considering our cap restrictions and injuries to Caleb Douglas and De'Von Achane.

(All 3-0 teams so far, with 2 being Super Bowl contenders in the 49ers and Chiefs).

Looking at our cap situation for next season there is clear room for optimism:

1) Falcons $114,174,556

2) Cardinals $99,873,829

3) Dolphins $96,781,496

While senior management will need to scout carefully regarding the profiles of players they bring in, there is real hope moving forward.

None of us want to be 0-3, but we have to be realistic given the shortcomings of the previous administration. It's already clear that Jon-Eric Sullivan knows how to draft—Douglas, Proctor, Rodriguez, and Bell have all shown a ton of promise so far.

With the team 0-3 it seems to be a fight between us and the Tennessee Titans (again lol). Whether that #1 overall pick ends up being spent on Arch Manning, Jeremiah Smith, or traded down, premium draft assets appear to be on the way while we establish a strong cultural foundation.

The only slight hiccup so far is Malik Willis—there are flashes of promise, but definitely room for improvement. That said, it’s tough to judge him fairly when playing behind rookies and limited offensive weapons.

This rebuild feels very similar to Dan Campbell's first season in Detroit, where they went 4-12-1 but established that grit and toughness that turned them into an NFC contender.

Overall, it’s always disappointing to see your team at 0-3, but there is every reason to stay optimistic as this squad grows. With elite draft position and massive cap relief on the horizon over the next two seasons, there might be a storm over Miami right now—but sunny skies are definitely ahead.

Jeff HafLeaf and I sat in silence for about four hours last night after the game. We finally spoke our thoughts about the game, and luckily a camera was on us for our reaction.

This season was obviously going to be a painful experience. I was excited to as least see Achane ball out and show just how special he is. Now that is out the window and im starting to get worried we may go 0-17 😭. I was thinking we would at least win 3 games this year but that is looking really choppy (but you never know. Any given Sunday and all that).

I did enjoy the fight the team displayed yesterday and a number of rookies have shown promise (please stand up, Mr. Rodriguez). But my heart goes out to Achane, man.

This is a season of improvement Achane is already arguably one of the best RBs in the league we really don’t have anything to gain by using him. At this point we need to see if Jaylen Wright and Ollie Gordon are good enough to be RB2 or depth pieces as I am not fully sold on either one. If they are not ready we have Jarquez Hinter and Carlos Washington Jr. We can also give Malik more opportunities to work with the 4 (3 are rookies) young WRs. Those are the players that need the most improvement and what is better than first hand experience in the NFL. Achane will still be a great leader in the locker room and he’s a hard worker who will be seen in the facility working his way back to health.

I wish Achane the best in his recovery and may he feel better soon.

The Miami Dolphins are paying a large chunk of their money to players not on the roster. They are recovering from a failed regime who made some bad decisions. They have the youngest roster in the league, a new HC and GM. And to add on top of that, injuries to Achane and Douglas. I mean what else do you expect?

From the beginning, considering where we are as a franchise, you cannot judge this season on wins and losses. Only on the little things: weekly improvement, culture, playing hard, etc.

Am I saying that Hafley and Sully are the solution? No. I’m saying it is far too early to make any definitive judgements on Willis, Haf, and Sully. We are used to mediocrity.

Maybe sometimes you need a really bad year to reset everything. I mean really it was either this, or run it back yet again with the same previous regime in which we already saw ran its course. We had a more than enough sample size from them.

Give it some time. See the big picture. Next year we will have some cap freed up after taking our medicine this year, another year to have Haf and Sully get their guys in, another year of experience for the young guys, and hopefully or possibly able to add some experienced proven free agents.

It’s a process whether you like it or not considering the circumstances . Now another year or two then yes we can judge by wins and losses and make definitive statements. It’s like really, what did you expect? Enjoy a year of no expectations. Step outside and look at the bigger picture.

Some final food for thought:

Dan Campbell in his first year as the Lions coach (changing horrible decades of bad culture) started 0-10-1.

Kyle Shanahan started 0-7 in his first 7 games as coach of the 49ers.

Again, am I saying that Hafley and Sullivan are the solution? No. But it’s way too early to judge whether they are or not.

Happy to see him out here still making plays, it was heart breaking to lose him but I hope he continues to find success in his career
