I purchased these two trimmers two years apart, but they are incompatible with each other. What’s the point of this?

I’m getting rid of this car after owning it for 13 years. This thing never let me down, but there’s one design choice I could never get over. These buttons.

The hang up button is on top and convex, while the pick up button is on the bottom and concave.

It always seemed completely backwards to me. The pick up button should be on top and convex. Both of those things physically communicate “up” so you could tell which button you were pressing by feel without having to look down at the symbols.

Thirteen years with this car and these buttons never stopped tripping me up.

Made some spaghetti, poured it into my trusty colander and gave it a couple shakes to get more water out...and the bottom of the strainer perfectly broke, plopping my fresh food right into the dirty sink. Thanks, plastic, you are the best.

EDIT: lol for all the pedants out there, I moved the piece from under the pasta to show clearly how it broke. I ain't got time to make food and ruin it, and making my hungry kids wait another 30 minutes for dinner was annoying

EDIT 2: yes, plastic colander is dumb and I absolutely upgraded to something more suitable after this sad event

Made a cinnamon crumble dessert Saturday after dinner and we each had a small piece. Next day we heading out to run some errands and get dinner when he asked if he could have a piece after he ate. Which I told him was fine.

I get back after a long day and they ate the entire middle of the cake. His excuse was "I didn't like the edges", as if taking the literal entire middle was the only choice he had!

Okay guys, you all gave me a good laugh. I’m glad some were as inconvenienced about this as I was. I did boil some elbow noodles and toss them in there. I am considering contacting Stouffer’s QC, but also it was $5 and I’m fortunate enough to not be in a spot where $5 is a lot.

I had friend come over and stay the night to go to Oktoberfest with me. Every time he would get a glass of water he would get a new glass. Every time he would get a coffee he would get a new mug. I watched him down a glass of water, rinse it, put it the dishwasher, and then IMMEDIATELY get down another glass and fill it with water and go sit on the couch… He did almost the same thing with his first cup of coffee… sat down drank it fairly quickly, rinsed it, put in the dishwasher, then IMMEDIATELY got another mug and poured a second cup of coffee…

Later he complained I was running low on clean glasses…

Edit: Yes… I talked to him about it… He said he doesn’t like the previous drink to get mixed with the new drink… mean while I will pick a glass and use it for almost everything 🤣 Soda… rinse the glass and fill it… water…. Rinse the glass and fill it… beer… you get the idea… except coffee, wine, and whiskey… I know I know… I’m multitudes…

I love going to concerts. My fun fact is “I attended 100 concerts before I turned 21.” I have so many ticket stubs. I love my ticket stubs!! Technology has made stubs no more.

They could at least let us take a screenshot AFTER the ticket has been scanned. This concert was yesterday. Today I can’t even take a screenshot. No shit a screenshot won’t get you in. The concert was yesterday. Let me take a damn screenshot for my memories 😭😤

Edit: people say to take a screen recording. It doesn’t work. I tried starting screen recording then open app. It doesn’t let you “view ticket.” I also tried “view ticket” and the screen turns black/doesn’t screen record.

Also. People are saying “have a friend take a picture on their phone” and “use another phone.” I go to almost all my concerts alone so that doesn’t work. I also don’t have another phone to take a picture of the phone in my hand.

Finally. When I can. I absolutely do go to the box office and pay for a paper ticket. Sometimes the staff is nice and doesn’t even take the money and gives the paper ticket for free. I also do my best to wait till the day of the show and buy a ticket at the box office. Not always possible as shows sell out or the good seats aren’t available. Also, sometimes, when you buy at the box office they will literally text you a confirmation receipt that is a link to the ticket barcode. So that doesn’t always work either.

It puts a message related to rounding as a business that no longer uses pennies right above the number pad, causing it to move. But it also sometimes removes the message, and brings it back.

Genuinely feels like a prank.

I ignored $3,817.79 in medical debt, because fuck that. Got a letter from debt collections that says I now only owe $202.27.
If I had been a ‘good patient’ and paid when the bills originally came I’d be out thousands of dollars.

My credit is great. Medical debt isn’t like normal debt and I keep up with my states laws/regulations so I know what bills I need to fight and what bills I can ignore. It’s worth learning how to work the system so you don’t get fucked by it. Fighting bullshit medical charges/denials on my patients behalf is lowkey my favorite part of work. Fuuuuuucccckk those guys

You can't even just watch a game anymore. Every single commercial break is a celebrity yelling at you to download a casino app and claim a "risk-free" bonus.
Half the pre-game shows and live commentators spend more time talking about the spread, the over/under, and live odds than the actual players. Even going out to a sports bar is miserable now. Nobody actually cares if their home team wins or loses; they just sit there in silence, aggressively staring at their phones and sweating over a 12-leg parlay.
It feels like you can't just be a normal sports fan today without being forcefully subjected to a nonstop advertisement for a gambling addiction.

I'm never using one of these again. I cried a little, I was looking forward to this all day.

(Also idk if red curbs are a US-only thing, so to clarify: red curbs are “fire lanes,” meaning they must be kept clear at all times in case a fire engine needs to access the area in an emergency. It’s written right next to where the car is, for insult to injury.)

I’m sitting at the stop sign waiting to turn right. A car turns left onto my street. Instead of swinging out into their own lane, they cut the corner and come straight at me in mine. Yesterday one shaved it so close I had to brake hard to avoid getting hit.

It seems like it happens pretty often. I know I’m not going to change how anyone drives, but it still gets me every time.

Anyone else deal with this?

In the game totally accurate battle simulator you can make your own units and upload them for other people to use. In fairness I used a template of a blank space marine I found so I can’t be too mad but I spent multiple hours balancing and recolouring different abilities and weapons and for it to be stolen on the same day with no changes AND for it to be doing better than the original it is a little depressing.
