I'm on the best meds I can be on and am seeing the best psychologist I can see and together it's only like a 30% improvement in my disabilities, and there are no cures on the horizon, so it looks like I'll be stuck in this position for life. Note that in part of the PDF I wrote that I am a "grandiose narcissistic psychopath", but those sorts of symptoms might have partially been from bipolar mania. Still, I have been described as "like a cross between narcissism and autism", and I have never had a wife, fiancée, or girlfriend despite being a 32-year-old straight man who tried really hard, so I'm kinda socially impaired and/or socially abnormal. Also, please avoid writing comments that go like "YOU ARE A PARASITE ON THE SYSTEM!!!" Social Security Disability INSURANCE is an INSURANCE program. I paid into it with my taxes. Some people get more money out of it than they put in and some people get less. That's how an insurance plan works. I didn't choose to become disabled.

I am 30 years old. I have been on hormones for the last two and a half years. I have been seriously pursuing this surgery for the last two and a half years. The date is end of April that I have for my surgery date. So by the time the surgery is complete, this will have been a three-year process for me Start to finish, between everything required to get this sort of surgery approved. I live on the West Coast in a blue state in the United States.

The first time I looked into this surgery I was 13 years old and I have been wanting it for as long as I can remember.

I've been self-harming for almost a decade - AMA

I've been cutting myself since I was 13, and I'm almost 23. I have extensive scarring all over my body. I've needed stitches and staples more times than I can count, hit an artery, almost needed surgery last summer, had cellulitis more than once, have nerve damage ranging from mild numbness to reduced functioning in my left hand, and it got so bad last year that my GP had to set me up with a chronic wound care service.

I think it's a topic people have a lot to ask, but feel they can't. I'd love to answer some questions, and try to kill the taboo a bit. I get treated pretty oddly in public, so any less stigma would be great. AMA !

At some point around September 2025 I (16M) began to have thoughts and urges to lose my eye. My left eye in particular, and both of my eyes are healthy. Fortunately, I could never bring myself to actually harm myself. These thoughts and urges were constantly in my head - from the second I woke up to ten second I fell asleep, every day of every week. I sometimes used to cover my left eye with something so I could simulate life with only my right eye. Thoughts about my eye starting going away after I got glasses, though the idea of having one eye occasionally appears in my mind sometimes (though I don’t think about actually losing my left eye, just the idea of life without it).

It’s been about a year since the thoughts began, I still don’t know why I had these thoughts despite being fully aware of the severe and life-changing impacts of losing my left eye. Maybe my brain was trying to tell me something, or maybe it was something else entirely. I don’t know, but I am absolutely sure that I will keep both of my eyes for the rest of my life, and having only one eye will damage every aspect of my life.

i feel silly making another post like this, but it’s a topic i’ve loved discussing with others the more i’ve come in tune with this part of me!! but in essence, i have a mostly platonic kink for being sat on by others for comfort/support, which is something i’ve only recently figured out about myself!

mostly, i’m in love with the feelings of warmth and deep pressure; i tend to sleep under weighted blankets, and even stack heavy things on me for comfort. it’s a bit of a neurodivergent comfort for me, as i’ve used it for soothing anxiety for a long time, so a person’s butt is genuinely the comfiest thing to me!! that much concentrated warmth and pressure melts away anxiety so well ^^

perhaps the most heart-melting part for me though is the comfort of someone else! i think it stems largely from being raised with such empathy, and wanting to be useful to someone, so the thought of supporting someone by cushioning a hard surface, providing a spot to sit where there is none, or just to be a pliable surface for someone’s comfort is so emotionally fulfilling for me!! >v<// that goes for people with plush bottoms just as much as harder bottoms that need extra padding!

kind of a cherry on it for me is that i just find butts so cute!! it’s a more abstract part to describe, but something that makes me indescribably really happy; if it were normal, i wish i could just let any stranger sit on me if they needed/wanted to, WHICH I KNOW IS SUPER SILLY, but i find the thought of cushioning even a random person’s butt so utterly sweet!
