Forever If I end up waiting X minutes for you to arrive at the dungeon

I don't care.

This game is 20+ years old.

I'm not playing it to rush through content. I don't give a fuck about parsing or min maxing. I'm here to get stoned and kill some alliance.

I'll find something to do, explore the world, fish, mine, help some people in the area quest, do some other stuff.

I don't play classic or any variant of it with the expectation that anything will be fast, or convenient.

If you don't have patience slap on your fast pass bracelet and enjoy the rides at the theme park, that game was made for you city folk.

You know what I remember the most from TBC through Midnight? Nothing because they all sucked.

Classic 4eva baby!

Forever Opening raids only 1 month after launch is too early

This is again forcing everyone to level as fast as possible just to raid early. Should be at least 2 months imo.

Edit: holy shit some people are enraged by my opinion

Forever Beta Feedback Ngl I really miss capped leveling phases...

Honest opinion, I actually miss SoD. I miss those 'level capped' phases where you could just vibe in low level zones for days and actually discover new stuff.

Heard WoW Forever is launching on the 4th with level 60 right off the bat. Give it less than 3 months and all the leveling content is gonna feel dead, turning the game into a weekly raid-log simulator. It's always the same cycle where everyone just waits for heroic dungeons and weekly raids, especially now that Blizz promised no more level cap increases.

I mean yeah, rushing to max level and clearing end game quests is hype, but abandoning zones immediately because they're not efficient anymore kinda sucks. Wish they gave low-level exploration more love during the first few months

Forever For those on fence about PvE vs PvP, I think this will be the most fun world PvP the game has seen in 20 years

Not exaggeration. Yes you will get ganked yes you will get camped but the opportunity for old school town raids, Hillsbrad, etc will be really prevalent. Also not worried about layers disrupting that, the game will simply be too popular for you to not have the opportunity.

This is where I have landed after swearing off PvP after Anni. Its simply too much a part of why the game is so replayable. Hope this helps others

Forever Streamers Profiting from Paid Tourny are Against PvP Matchmaking

I hope other people are starting to feel the hypocrisy on this. Where one group of players with the devs' ear is telling the rest of us that matchmaking is actually bad. That it's better that PvP has no matchmaking or rating, even if we don't get rewards from the rating.

They think it's better for premades to be rolling through BGs and stomping new players or weaker teams game after game with no matchmaking because any form of visible matchmaking is "against the spirit of classic" but they are also happy to push a shady tournament (TipsOut who has been in multiple fraud lawsuits) and coverup the rampant cheating in a $50k real money tournament that they control (every tourny they've hosted is filled with cheaters). They are also happy to either buy gold or receive bought gold from their viewers; because, surely, they just want what's best for the game... right? Not to line their pockets and eliminate other competitive venues.

https://www.twitch.tv/ziqoftw/clip/ColdbloodedBlazingMonitorRalpherZ-G-kGDsecnPTHCCjQ?range=7d
https://www.twitch.tv/ziqoftw/clip/TemperedBadSalamanderSwiftRage-GtZ7RhtpO-ecnta4?range=7d

Waiting now for Xaryu to give his hot take and DQ the guy since Xaryu is hosting the $50k tourny and has also been the biggest advocate against any form of matchmaking in classic. Weird coincidence surely.

So they aren't actually against rated PvP... at all. They are against competition and make PvPers who want a rated experience go to them. That BGs are bad because they are instanced but they will host their event in a private area inaccessible to other players for days at a time. What happened to rated pvp being bad because it takes you out of the real world? Do we know the companies sponsoring this tournament yet, by the way? Not suggesting a "conspiracy" here so much as financial bias.

Forever Faster day/night cycle?

Post image
5 Upvotes

Me and a lot of my friends have historically played on American servers since we have a lot of buddies from the US, so I'm used to playing at night in large part. I was wondering what you guys would think of double, or even quadrupling the day/night cycle so we can experience different times of the day more frequently during a play session?

I talked to a Nightelf earlier who told me a specific location looks beautiful at around 2-3pm, but I have to wait until tomorrow to see it! :<

Forever The day and night cycle should be 12 hours instead of real time.

Or have each continent opposite so it feels like they are further apart. I haven't seen what it looks like at night yet, although I will on release as I'm EU but I think it would be more immersive.

Edit: I was moreso mentioning this due to one megaserver per ruleset means this won't line up with a portion of players, maybe having it set to region would work better? Although joining someone from another timezone might be a bit odd.

Edit 2: I also meant the entire cycle completes in 12 hours, so day would be 6 hours and so would night, otherwise some will only ever play during the day/night due to where they play in relation to the server time (if it's set that way for all on PVE for example.

Forever Beta Feedback Beta needs a server reset before raising the level cap to 30

I know many people have multiple level 20s already and I do as well, however we are currently way more geared than the average level 20 will be on launch. This will make the 20-30 journey way easier than normal and will invite the "leveling is too easy" criticism because the majority of level 20 players are twinked out right now.

Forever Trade chat is just enchanting spam. We need velums.

Enchanting has always been my bag, the introduction of vellums was imo the best thing to ever happen to enchanting. Outside of a few individual things like shield spikes, Enchanters are the only profession that has to stand in a capital spamming chat all day if they want to make money.

It's annoying for sellers, it's annoying for customers, with forever removing the hard 'no changes' rule it seems an ideal opportunity.

The presense of mega-servers is going to make the traditional approach of knowing your friendly neighbourhood enchanter much harder. Enchanting remains one of the most expensive professions to level, the returns are awful, and you cannot even enchant your own alts gear, considering Forever is pushing account wide unlocks and heavy alting this seems like a shame. I can send potions, and crafted gear to my alts.

Regarding socialising, is it not more social to be out playing the game? Running dungeons for greens to DE, rather than being semi-afk in Org/IF spamming a macro every 20s?

We could even introduce at some point items that require physically interacting with (like Lockboxes), so we don't completely lose the social aspect.

Forever Revisiting (False) Blood Elf Popularity

With a lot more demographic data around the race popularity, people are surprised that sky elves are not nearly as popular as blood elves despite using the same models.

But this shows a much clearer comparison to why blood elves were so popular in the first place.

They were the only race on horde that could be paladins and they had meta racials.

Right now Undead are overwhelmingly the most popular race for horde for this same exact reason.

Sky elves have no unique classes and they have the worst racials.

Skyelves have a series of variables that will change their popularity however:

First is one that will negatively impact them: Many people, including myself, only made sky elves to check out the new zone and in my case try out the new druid forms. I have zero intention of playing the race on launch. This will inflate their early numbers.

The second which will positively impact them: Not everyone has access to sky elves in the beta. There are people who want to try them out but haven't bought them.

But I think the data currently supports the idea that blood elves' popularity wasn't solely their aesthetic, but driven in large part by class restrictions and racial balance.

Forever Olympus Stans: Why?

Asking for good faith answers here, don't want people attacking anyone or telling me how much they hate them.

It seems universal that both horde and alliance find Olympus to be negative for their playing experience, and I just want to ask, why do you guys join and what do you find fun about it?

Forever Beta Feedback Blizzard should have some people responding on reddit

An amazing thing about Jagex and OSRS is something dubbed a "J-Mod smackdown". Someone will post on reddit about being erroneously banned for some non-sense. And sometimes a J-Mod will comment and say "check your email youve been unbanned" but 99% of the time a much more satisfying outcome happens where a J-Mod will come in and say something like "The account in question has received 3 temporary suspensions in the past for the use of auto-clickers, the most recent offense involved the account clicking every .5 seconds for 12 hours straight with only occasional hiccups where its clear the owner took back over the account".

The community over there loves it, and it would be great to see some Blizzard smackdowns on people claiming they were banned for some bullshit reason. "I got banned for getting tips for summoning" "no you got banned because you were traded 500g from a level 1 and then immediately used it to buy mount training"

Forever Beta Feedback New design + Old influence. Maybe judgment is the peak of paladin sets but if you are gonna add new sets you need to take influence from the style that was loved by us all.

Post image

People where having complaints about me just putting shit out without giving proper feedback. So here is me trying to give an example of how influencing new designs from old could be made, to match the vibe already set, and still keeping it new without making it feel like you just put a retail armor in classic. (Hope this feedback makes more sense) disclaimer just a suggestion dont take this to serious oki ❤️

Forever Why are we min/maxing a beta?

I have seen so many posts and videos about whats is BiS and the best way to farm gold when the level cap is still 20. Much of this game is still being balanced. So many people are going to burn themselves out before the game actually launches. People are free to play how they want but it all seems so much wasted effort since all beta characters will be wiped.

Forever Does WoW Forever have a solution for tanks and dungeons?

Had a big issue with TBC anniversary where tanks had no reason or incentive to do dungeons after they got geared. (I don’t blame them) but for DPS classes like my warlock trying to get pre raid bis it became very difficult and sometimes had to wait 2+ hours to get a run.

Was wondering if the forever team has added anything to prevent this

Forever Everyone wants everything for their main class

I want to ask you all one question. Don't you see this exact way of thinking lead to retail? Everyone wanting everything and all buttons to press on their class. The only solution is to make all classes the same, just with different animations.

Can you all see now what lead to retail? I hope we are not going full circle?

Forever Art direction issue must be solved

Thumbnail
gallery
• Upvotes

I know this is talked about a lot, but i wanted to add to our collective voice.

As it was said at Blizzcon, classic's art style is timeless and Forever should still feel like classic. However, looking at the new assets, that philosophy seems to just not be true.

Classic has a very distinctive visual identity. Simple geometry, strong silhouettes, stylized proportions. The details are mainly in the textures. Compared to the new assets that have complex geometry, soft silhouettes and details shown through said complex geometry rather than the classic style. It doesn't need to be said this creates a jarring contrast. Confusing even.

With the beta we've seen the new sky elf druid forms, along with new creatures in their starting zone. They feel like they're from a completely different generation of the game, which they essentially are since many of them are just ports from retail.

We can't be having retail models ported to Forever with low res textures. The art style is not the same. The artistic standard has to be "I have never seen this before, but it is unmistakably classic."

This has to be addressed by Blizzard.

Forever Beta Feedback Lifetime PvP Ruleset Faction Lock-in is Bad. Make it a cooldown instead.

There are many valid reasons to disallow faction swapping on pvp servers and I have always supported it. That said we have never been in a situation where people are being forced to pick a side FOREVER.

For all the upsides of faction locking this is an unacceptable consequence in a social game where people have ties across factions and decades.

Why can't the solution just be a cooldown for switching. Want to log into your horde pvp char? Can't play your alliance character for a day/week/month/year.

Anniversary Classic Forever beta is already hitting TBC active population pretty hard

Post image

I expected Forever to have an impact on TBC activity, but honestly I didn’t expect a "closed" beta alone to hit this hard.
Maybe Forever isn’t the only factor, but the timing is pretty interesting.

Forever If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it

I’ll start by saying I’ve leveled dozens of horde characters beyond level 20 so I what I’m talking about here. Also, I don’t feel super strongly about this, it’s just my observation.

I leveled to 13 purely in the starting area. The hidden enemies RFC chain along with some quick errand quests in the capital city took me to 14. A single RFC quest run took me to 16. I then went straight to ROL and a single quest run took me to 18. The oasis WC quest line and one WC run took me to 20. I can essentially completely bypass silverpine forest, the barrens, and stonetalon mountains quests. I used to always have to do multiple quests within those zones to get to 20. I also am a big fan of dungeon grind leveling but I still would do many of these zone quests just when I wanted a break. Now I out level them way too fast. All I’m saying is in blizzard’s attempt to get more people leveling out in the world, the dungeons have become even MORE efficient.

If I’m blizzard, I would consider reverting dungeon and dungeon quest XP back to normal. The problem (which wasn’t one) is far worse now. Again, I really don’t care, I’m just saying this is a failed ‘solution’.

Forever WoW should add more permanent fun destinations like the Gold Saucer from FFXIV.

With the horizontal progression approach and dedicated RP "Ruleset" more open world places you can visit with friends and guild members or to create new friendships should be made more apart from campfires in WoW Forever.

All in the "Spirit of Classic" of course.

FFXIV had the Golden saucer which featured:

  • Casino-style games
  • racing
  • minigames
  • Shows / Performances - I remember WoW had the Elite Taren chieftain in the game!
  • Golden Saucer currency to exchange for rewards / cosmetics in that area.
  • Events / Activities.

I understand we have the Darkmoon faire but we need something adding to it! it feels too boring just a few vendors and the way retail did it was just repeatable quests.

I have seen a new coliseum in Orgrimmar, imagine Live Mak'Gora Events hosted in the arena which you could watch live!

How about some racing near Tarnaris near the quest hub? - Similar to Mario Kart.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rh2zqH-x-lk this is from 15 years ago! looks buggy but the concept is cool something like this with the Goblin Pod racers!

Some form of basic hearthstone / WoW related game you could play inside inns which people can play and bet against each other for up to 1gold or other friendly wagers XD

I would love the use of instruments in WoW, playing in taverns or at live events in game or stood in cities or private events its cool!

There are very cool Elements FFXIV did right and Blizzard could do their own take or in a separate manner.
