Former aides reported frustration with Fetterman's political evolution away from his initial progressive brand, noting his steadfast support for Israel, a warmer approach toward Donald Trump, and alignment with certain Republican policy stances.

A less-reported issue is the influence of unofficial Advisers like David Safier—(See Highlights) —which drove internal staff friction over the growing influence of these outside, unpaid, foreign-aligned unofficial advisers close to the senator.

The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times detailed leaked text messages and allegations from former staffers regarding his engagement with day-to-day congressional duties, health struggles, and interpersonal friction.
