This. A lot of people of color are extremely nationalist, but don't understand that white people are racist racist based only on skin color.
There's a long history of Asians hating other Asians, and South Americans/Latinos hating others.
They don't seem to realize that when a white person says "We're going to deport the bad people" it means everyone who has the same skin tone regardless of where they're from. It's not a nuanced "Ah yes the Haitians are bad and Guatemalans are good, Mexicans are bad but Colombians are good" type of deal (I'm totally making those up as an example).
So that's how you get these MAGA POC, because they don't think the leopard is coming after their face.

To expand on this a little:
South and Central America is ultra racist. From people descended from European colonists towards those from natives or slaves. To them, it's still typically racism directed towards darker skinned people.
They don't understand at all, to a racist white person in America they are all equally brown and hated.
The same can be applied to Indian immigrants and the caste system. It's extremely hierarchical and racist towards lower castes, and don't seem to recognize that to outsiders they are all equally brown. They might see themselves as descended from royalty, but Cletus sees them the same as the untouchable they pass in the ditch.

Your allegory is actually more accurate than you think.
The most racist Japanese people tend to often also be ardent followers of the "Yamato" culture; that is to say, the bloodline of the members of the royalty/ruling class when the Empire fell. Hence why Japan's government leans so hard towards conservativism, it's all former members or descendants of the royalty/ruling class who fought to retain their power and influence when Japan became a parliamentary democracy.
The Yamato considers only themselves to be "true Japanese", they either ignore or outright suppress Japan's other ethnic groups from getting recognition. For example, from between 2008 to 2019 the Ainu were only regarded as a language dialect/accent, only after 2019 were they recognised as an indigenous Japanese ethnic group with a protected/promotable culture. and when they passed those recognition laws in 2019, many Japanese conservatives complained that doing do "damaged the national and cultural unity of Japan" (despite the fact that the Ainu are actually an older ethnic group to Japan than the Yamato are).
The irony of it, and how your allegory is more accurate than you think? The Yamato are themselves immigrants, primarily from the Korean Peninsula.
A racist Yamato Japanese person has as much ground to speak on as an racist American whose last name is McGriffin or Schmidt.

Had a friend do the whole teach English in Japan gig. He went whole hog and got married to a Japanese woman and had kids. Her parents never accepted him or their kids. They would dote on her siblings spouses and children but do like really messed up things like not invite my friend's family to vacation and leave them empty handed when the other grandkids got presents for holidays.
It got to the point they moved back to the States and his parents love his wife and kids. Even let them stay with them until he got a job and back on his feet. His wife says she'll only go back to Japan to bury her parents.

Basically how Latino populations in Florida end up voting for Trump. I recall the statistics on Florida. Cubans were pretty wild. Like an overwhelming majority of them were conservative Republicans who voted for Trump.
Like they are fine with things as long as they are higher on the totem pole. So they can basically point to Haitians, for example, and say: these people should be deported. And they can say that because they think there’s a huge difference between themselves (conservative Latinos), and Haitians, for example. But they don’t realize did the average geriatric Maga supporter views them both with exactly equal distain.

There are also immigrants who "did it legally" by following the correct processes to be allowed in, who resent the people who didn't do it "right".
The thing is, with policies changing and things like asylum or Temp Protected Status being ripped from vulnerable people who previously were allowed to stay, here is huge variability in what "the right way" is.
For instance, a work colleague is from Venezuela who worked for a US company when he was younger, they brought him to the US and sponsored him. He followed the legal path and eventually earned his full citizenship. He then got his father and brother to move here via TPS due to all of the issues and some specific major threats that impacted them in Venezuela, the dad eventually got a green card or permanent residency, but his brother wasn't far enough along and only had TPS when the current administration canceled it for Venezuelans across the board, and forced the brother to self deport.
A week or two later the US dropped bombs on Venezuela and kidnapped their (obviously highly controversial) president.
3 different people, same risks to stay in Venezuela, 3 very different outcomes.
It's all very complex with the constant changes, and opinions change when outcomes affect different people's situations. I just wish more people would think through the nuances vs saying "get them all out." When many of those who will be kicked out previously would have been able to follow approved processes to do so.
If your family risked death in returning home because an arbitrary decision was made that revoked your TPS or other previously approved process to remain in the US, I think that's a pretty tough call to expect all immigrants to "do the right thing" if they legitimately think they or their families will end up dead if they do so.

Some/many of these examples are documented. The current administration is just unilaterally cancelling visas and pulling the rug out from under people here on asylum and for other other "legal" reasons.
This is part of the messaging that people are missing. It's not the "undocumented" people that are being rounded up. But it's a mix of students and workers on suddenly cancelled visas, asylum seekers working their way through the court system, etc... There are certainly some who are undocumented who just live here (some who were brought here as children and never knew another country, but we provided no path to citizenship for them - who are no longer children)/ But they're also easy to track down as they have tax records and a paper trail, just no citizenship.
And we ALREADY deported criminals (violent and otherwise) who were found to be undocumented - that's not new. ICE doesn't seem to want to risk going after these kinds of folks as much, and instead would rather local law enforcement arrest them first.
This fool maybe thought that he would be protected by trying to be on "their side". But ICE has quotas, and those quotas don't care who you campaign for.
It's important to keep this in mind when they start talking about getting rid of birthright citizenship and trying to unilaterally redefine what a citizen is (first week Executive Order by Trump this term).

It's a deluded kind of self obsession to the point that they don't even think about the impact they have on the rest of society, or what the individuals that make up that society think of them.
Trump is a promise to these types of people that such behavior is not only okay, but righteous.

They weren't. They were well documented and here quite within the law. Those were some of the first folks they went after. Low hanging fruit is the easiest to pick. ICE gets to pump up numbers and really the only folks that know the difference are the ones ordering and issuing the warrants. The rulebook was tossed out to score points in the culture war.

He probably wasn't. A ton of "undocumented" persons in this country were actually legal immigrants with papers who, either intentionally or unintentionally, overstayed their visa. DHS intentionally targeted these people because it's a lot easier to find people with a verified last known location than it is to find someone you have absolutely no record of, so when trying to pump their numbers they intentionally went after them. That's also why Trump has been revoking legal status from existing immigrants, essentially creating illegal immigrants to fuel his own crisis. Create the problem, sell the solution.

The short answer is that you don't need to be a citizen to form an LLC, get an EIN, or pay taxes as a business owner. You'd need *someone* to get a food service permit and a business license, but that someone doesn't need to be the owner.
The subtle trick is that the undocumented person couldn't legally *work for* that restaurant, and couldn't get *paid* by that restaurant. So, weirdly, they'd be paying themselves under the table.

This particular guy was a Lebanese man who'd overstayed his visa. So he became an illegal immigrant, according to the law.
He came over on a 5 year family and spousal visa because he was supposedly going to marry an American woman, but then for whatever reason they didn't get married. His visa expired in 2024 and he didn't go back, so from then on he was an illegal immigrant. However, at the time he started Trump Burger, his visa was still valid.

Now all have either closed or rebranded.

I really don't understand how these ppl's mind work.. Do they not know that they are not legal immigrant? They have to be because you can't get a normal driver's license or passport without actual legal documentation.
I can see some 15 year old not knowing anything about their legal status. But for someone that runs a business, that's hard to imagine.

Oh well and ha ha. Anyways...
I'm making a homemade veggie soup today because I have a lot of veg about to go. Here's the recipe.but use whatever you have. Do this all in one big kettle.
Cabbage, carrots, onion, garlic, frozen broccoli, and a big container ofleft over rice, boxed veg stock. Whatever seasoning you have. I like Italian blend. Olive oil.
Dice onions, garlic, carrots, and sautéed in olive oil until onions are cooked through and slightly caramelized. Add cabbage chunks and quickly sautée. Microwavefrozen broccoli and drain excess water. Add broccoli and Add veg stock until everything is covered in liquid. Additalian seasoning to taste (Several tablespoons) Turn on med low and let low boil / simmer for 1 hour. Reheat rice and add directly to kettle if there's room.
I've done this w hard squash, corn, and used curry spices and its also great. Basically use what you got.
Oh and Fuck trump.
