Every other version I've seen involves an afro or curly hair - a hairstyle that is likely natural on the fictitious person. As far as product marketing it could be argued that there are at least people who want straight hair - at least on occasion, if not as their primary cut.
This is one is extra bizarre though because she went out of her way to braid in dreadlocks, and the disembodied hands are ruining them.
But we’d assume that people straightening their hair are doing it because they want to, not because some stranger is plopping goop on their heads. It’s also the family in these weird ads going crazy like they’ve never seen that hair texture straight before. But I get what you’re saying and I agree. And combing out braids like this would hurt! Ouch!
Don’t forget about the first iterations of this trend where it depicted a young black girl with a large Afro getting the slop in her hair, and after she gets straight hair her mother straight up says “oh my god you look normal now!”
Also it’s always black people getting their hair straightened in these videos for that racist reason

As a trans person, I’ve observed that non-con transformation is a fetish often held by those who desire transformation but for some reason are scared to admit it.
Basically “it’s not wrong to accept it, only to ask for it”.
Being transformed into something or someone else, sometimes into a vaguely sentient object or a different person, sometimes with a personality change as well. If a hair color change is part of it, it would only be one small part of rhe transformation. Not the whole thing.
May I ask where the non-consensual part comes in? For instance, would it be like if your partner wants to envision or verbally describe you as a flirtatious traffic cone, but you didn't want to be perceived as a flirtatious traffic cone (or vice versa)?
I can only speak to my own experiences, but this was never something I expected to share with another person. It's purely my own fantasies and consumption of stories (comics, games, interactive fiction). In those stories and fantasies the subject is transformed by some other force outside their control. Maybe they're stuck in some game that has transformations as a consequence of failure or maybe they're being cursed by a witch, or maybe they accidentally stumbled on some magical item that happens to do this to them.
In any case, they get transformed and it varies from story to story but often they find that actually they like the new them.
You might wonder why somene could ever want that. For me it's partly just because it's a wild, extreme, impossible fantasy but another element I didn't recognize and only recently figured out is that I am trans. So at least some of these fantasies for me boil down to:
"Oh golly, I can't believe I got turned into a pretty girl by that horrible witch through no choice of my own! Whatever will I do now? There's no way to change back. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to get used to this and live the rest of my life as a girl."
Although I didn't make that connection for many years. I thought it was just a crazy, shameful fantasy I had and didn't know why.

Person is trans. Person wants to transition. Due to cultural upbringing, person sees desiring transition as sinful. Person develops obsession with the idea of being transformed without asking for it.
For me, I didn't even know I was trans and wanted to transition yet but the desire seems to have leaked out of my subconcious or something anyway. Now that I do know, it make sso much more sense. Like a confusing puzzle piece finally sliding into place.

I don't think people understand the scale of which these exist on Facebook. Its not like you'll be scrolling and might pass an odd one here or there. Every shorts section, EVERY one, is dominated by AI, especially these fake-ass hair product ones. They all imply the same thing - naturally curly or otherwise not perfectly straight hair is undersirable and their magic hair mask can do something that requires treatments or heat tools to do. And 90% of the comments are MORE AI saying "omg i bought this/where can i buy this???". Facebook is irredeemable, there's no coming back from how much AI has invaded that cesspool of a platform.
It also feels like there is a racial component to the types of hair that they choose to be “fixed.” It’s always dreads or curly or frizzy or braided like this.
Setting aside that this was made by AI, the idea that "any hairstyle that is not perfectly straight hair is something to be fixed" is a shit lesson these ads are teaching. It erases any potential for self expression and individuality, all to look like mass-produced, basic ass, samey shit. Not to mention the hairstyle is lammmeeee assss fuuuckkk, tell me this doesnt look more like an aftermath of the washing of any ounce of uniqueness in you. The problem is Facebook is how a lot of people used to connect to family/friends/their community in the earlier 2000s and there hasn't been a bigger name or platform to take that place. Lots of older folks still talk to extended family through Facebook and they're exactly who these predatory AI ads prey on.
The "fixing" of curly hair also is always on black people. I'm a Scottish white dude with curly ass locks, I don't see any ads trying to "fix" my hair.
