It’s a really awesome moment when you get home from work, go straight to the bathroom, look out the skylight, and then see that.

I have no idea how it happened, and it was completely silent, too; the inner pane of the window is shattered—as you can see—and I think it’s definitely going to fall down sometime during the night.

Was about to have my first proper solid meal of the day for dinner, then saw the mold on BOTH the dried noodle packs that I just opened. They are supposedly not expired. I have run out of proper food.

Backstory makes it much worse.

For those who need it, TW calories and starvation.

I've known that even small amounts of gluten would cause me to be sick since more than 2 years ago, so these noodles are made of a different ingredient, shipped from overseas, and not easily replaceable (I can't just buy it from outside). Unfortunately I live in a tiny Southeast Asian country that doesn't cater to people with health-related dietary restrictions at all, so it's been generally difficult to find food. I can't buy a single meal (or main dish) from at least 999 out of 1000 restaurants/cafes/food stalls (actual experience walking around the country), or ready-made meals from supermarkets, and the places that had proper gluten-free food were inaccessible and unaffordable. As a result I was eating a horrible diet made mostly of packeted snacks that I could eat, eating super inconsistently, and getting visible signs of malnutrition on and off for 2 years. Back then my parents did not believe it was necessary to consult a dietitian.

When I attempted to fix my diet a few months ago, a series of bad stuff happened and I ended up seemingly developing new allergies to another type of grain (buckwheat) that I used to be able to eat, followed by rice the very next day. The reactions have only gotten worse until I stopped eating any amount of rice, and started reacting pretty unpredictably to more and more things. As a result I lost virtually every food that had a decent amount of calories, have been getting half of my energy from liquid meal replacements (expensive, difficult to prepare in a way that does not cause me GI discomfort) in the last 2 months (and recently drinking olive oil).

When I walk the entire big supermarket or mall near me, there are no staple foods I can buy there at all, only vegetables, potatoes (which only has half the calories for mass compared to brown rice, and is very energy-consuming to prepare in a way that doesn't cause food poisoning), and dairy products which I can eat in limited amounts. I have more than enough protein sources but none of them have enough calories for daily use, so I eat them but can't rely on them.

I finally managed to see an allergist 6 weeks after I was referred, took a blood test but the results are still not out because it takes 2 weeks. I got a dietitian appointment EARLIER than I could see an allergist so I had to reschedule it and the earliest slot is in November.

For a few weeks at the start I was unknowingly eating a lot less than 1000 calories on most days, quickly became bedridden and unable to do anything for more than a week before even realizing how little I was eating. I also happened to start developing nerve damage symptoms, which seem to be causes by prolonged B12 deficiency that got worse, and they quickly reversed after aggressive supplementation. Keep in mind I'm a 20yo who goes to university in person and was almost underweight before all this started. It's been difficult to get 1200 calories a day for a few weeks after that even with all my effort but started physically improving and being able to go back to school, recently finally able to get around 1600 on SOME days in the past week, but running out of proper food in the past few days. I'm always hungry, more tired than I should be, and a lot more cold than I should be. I genuinely hate being this thin, frail, and weak. My room is full of food that I used to be able to eat and can no longer eat safely (mainly dried noodles made of buckwheat and different kinds of rice).

These noodles are corn noodles bought online weeks ago, individually packaged and supposedly fresh for 12 months. I already ate 4 packets when I had no energy to inspect the noodles properly, so I probably ate moldy noodles a bunch of times.

My school knows about the ongoing ordeal, but it's not like anyone can really help me. Moving to another country is completely off the table due to personal circumstances.

On the bright side I discovered that I am still able to eat some chocolates today, but I can't rely on those as my staple food. Based on my extensive experience surviving off nothing but refined carbs, I get hungry way too soon and way too easily after eating only refined carbs and it's going to be really bad for my health if I don't do it in strict moderation. Too much olive oil makes me tired and have difficulty thinking, so I can't spam that either.

I took it out of the suitcase and suddenly the screen started malfunctioning, looks like an old crt; it keeps getting worse and I have no choice but to wait for the slow warranty service.

My starter motor short-circuited and overheated, causing severe melting and damage to the internal components. As you can see, the inside of the starter is badly burned and partially melted. :(

Woman breaks down in absolute tears as authorities confiscate the massive pet crocodile she raised at home since it was an egg

In Indonesia, a woman who raised a crocodile in her home after hatching it from an egg had to hand it over to the local conservation authorities.

While keeping apex predators as house pets is illegal and a massive safety hazard, seeing her completely break down sobbing while hugging and kissing it goodbye is a wild mix of tragic and bizarre.

They are working now but the sound is too low. Surprisingly these $25 earbuds were still turned on under a bucket of water and survived. I'm still listening to music while posting. Will put them with rice. Hope the sound will be fixed after they completely dry out inside:)
