Also, if I’m right, men were basically allowed to abuse their wives until like, 1993 (including rape). That’s pretty twisted. Women need to be taken more seriously when it comes to abuse. A lot of abusers/rapists get away with barely any time and it’s so fucking sad. That’s why women are so scared to speak up. There was even this story a while back (not sure if true as I read it in a comment) that a woman/girl was raped and went to officers to report it but they also raped her.
