One of the skins is called Carriga, the “carriga” (or “sa carriga”) is the heavy set of bronze cowbells and rattles that the Mamuthones, traditional masks from the Mamoiada Carnival in the province of Nuoro, Sardinia, wear strapped to their backs during the traditional Mamoiada Carnival. As a Sardinian, I’m very proud of this addition, and I can’t wait to see it in the game. I hope you like it, now we Raiders have another cool story to tell. And who knows if the bells will ring in the game too.

Update: To be precise, the mask worn by the character is the mask of a “Boes” which is typical of the carnival of Ottana, another Sardinian town. Here in Sardinia, we don't mess around with these traditional things, ahaha.

Frozen Trail arrives October 8, and with it, a new progression mechanic we call the Reward Pass. Here’s everything you need to know about the system, and what to expect from the two Passes coming with Frozen Trail. 

What is a Reward Pass?

Reward Passes are a natural evolution of Raider Decks, with some added benefits. They’re a progression mechanic that allows players to complete Feats to unlock unique and useful rewards coming with the Frozen Trail update: outfits, cosmetic items, gadgets, weapons, items, and Raider Tokens. 

An evolution of Raider Decks

While Raider Decks gave us a great starting point, over time we noticed issues with the system we’d made. Players accumulated Cred at a rate that became difficult to keep up with. When a new Raider Deck released, many players were able to finish them right away thanks to the Cred they’d saved up. This made the rewards feel much less… rewarding. It also left very little motivation to keep tackling Feats.

Reward Passes attempt to solve this by offering a more satisfying progression path designed to keep the journey engaging for longer. Reward Passes are also tied to the update they release with, allowing all players to experience the new items, weapons, and content by playing the game. 

Frozen Trail: Reward Passes

Frozen Trail will launch with two Reward Passes, the Frozen Trail Reward Pass and a Legacy Reward Pass.

The Frozen Trail Pass contains 60 levels to progress, with both a Free and Premium option. 

• Free Pass - This track includes all the new base outfits, plus new cosmetic items, weapons, gadgets, items, and a total of up to 200 Raider Tokens.
• Premium Pass - This offers a little bit extra. With this option, players will unlock all the premium toggles, modifications, and colorways for the new outfits. It also contains exclusive legendary weapon stencils, hairstyles, and a total of up to 1,150 Raider Tokens. Two things to note: the Premium Pass doesn’t contain items that benefit gameplay (like weapons or gadgets) like the Free Pass does. Also, the Premium Pass can be obtained for 1,150 Raider Tokens, so completing it means earning back the currency it takes to obtain it. 

The Legacy Pass combines all of the cosmetic rewards and Raider Tokens in Raider Decks into a single Free Pass. If you earned these in the past, they’ll be kept and remain unlocked in the Legacy Reward Pass. Progressing the Legacy Reward Pass will otherwise earn all the rewards you weren’t able to get your hands on in the old Raider Deck system. 

Frozen Trail Collector Set DLC

For those Raiders that want the full Frozen Trail experience, the Collector Set DLC includes a new cosmetic set, the Renzo, Dragon’s Breath Weapon Stencil, Bob Hair Style, and 2,400 Raider Tokens. It also grants access to the Frozen Trail Premium Reward Pass! 

It also comes with an exclusive Retro Sofa for your Raider Outpost and is the only way to get a blueprint for the new Banjo musical instrument.

The new map is so high up in the mountains that our tubes won't run there and we need to use (TBA) some sort of balloon / pod drop system / ? to get there. Cool! But from all footage we've seen - the depth of the snow looks to be only a few inches.

I hope Embark surprises us with areas where's it actually gets deep. Should slow our movement and change our gait. Leaving foot prints and leg tracks and affecting stamina.

You know, Snow.

Much like the water on Riven Tides - It's pointless if you can't wade in, at least up to your knees. It'll be a bummer if it's just a slight white dusting where deadly air is the only mechanic.

I was hesitant to buy Arc Raiders as my sweaty pvp days are long behind me, but I was looking for a game I could play solo and with friends interchangeably. Other than a bit of a learning curve, which admittedly could have been solved with a little googling, I am having a ton of fun. I’m sure there are many aspects of the game I have yet to encounter, but I think i’ll be ready for it when it happens now.

I had to write this right after some random risked his all to save my dumbass at the beach area, he got me up and out of there just barely, it was cinematic to watch as I was on the ground, time ticking away. I was doing the metal detecting quest and suddenly 3 Fireflies and god knows how many other clankers popped up out of nowhere. Saved my outlook on the day, went from bad to rather enjoyable.

I always thought this game had a reputation of griefing and noob hunting, yet so far all of my interactions have been civil I guess is a good word. “Hey Raider, you friendly” “Yes.” “Don’t shoot” and that’s that, usually

As long as I do a Greeting emote, don’t accidentally shoot near some poor person just walking by, and let my presence be known, nobody has given me any trouble. People don’t immediately close the hatch, I get revived a bit by randoms which saved me from calling it for the night a few times out of frustration, and a few people even added me already.

So thank you Raiders, in this highly competitive environment games seem to be in, thank you for actually making my downtime truly enjoyable and not just playing for the sake of playing

If this is your first expedition, here are some tips for speedrunning the leveling process the 2nd time around:

• Don't skip the tutorial, speedrun it!  You can keep all the materials from the tutorial (including the Burletta), just drop everything right before breaching the door.
• IMO Doing the early quests is very useful, you get some early upgraded weapons like a Rattler III and a Ferro IV and explosives.  You also get a lot of keys.
• Protip for any quest that provides and asks you to use a key, you can get a replacement/spare key right outside the keyroom if you forget.  This is a nice way to get double the keys!  Remember, especially early on without security breach, key rooms are the best way to get weapons, most keyrooms will have 2-3 guns and usually rare or above (and they are less damaged).
• Loot loot loot!  Looting is the fastest way to get XP, even searching already open containers gives xp.  
• Use Electro-storm and Husk Graveyard map conditions to safely get epic ARC parts for workbench upgrades if you are not kitted to take on the large ARC.  Couriers have Surveyor vaults or Sentinel cores.  Rocketeer Husks for the drivers.
• Run Close Scrutiny early, naked!  It is a crazy source for medical items and guns if you just beeline the combat supplies and extract.
• The best early upgrade is to buy a Looting Mk2 Augment from Lance and not run free kit.  You know the maps, you want those safe pockets for any BPs and the slots and carry weight to extract more per raid.
• Spend your Cred.  It goes away October 8th, but you can use the Cred to buy the Looting Mk2 Augment and Hatch Keys to speed your leveling.  We are not sure but you might be able to buy the Hullcracker, Trigger Nade and Burletta blueprints using cred!
• You can run any map from the start.  The best map is Stella Montis for materials and XP due to loot density.  I would personally run Stella over and over to get basic materials and farm the Seeker Grenade, Deadline BP early.  It should not be too hard.  Lobby containers give metal, plastic, chemical and gun parts.  Loading Bay is great for oil, metal, springs and industrial loot.  
• You can do weekly trials from the October 8th.  Doing easy 3 starred trials can be a good source of Blueprints/Guns/Materials.
• Level Scrappy early for better passive basic material income.  Remember you need to spend 6 mins in a raid for the bonus items if you feed Scrappy. 
• IMO, Workbench priority is Gear Bench level 2 > Refiner > Gunsmith > Explosive > Medical > Utility.  Gear bench level 2 so you can craft your own Looting Mk2 and eventually Mk3 augments.  Refiner will make getting components more easier (even for other workbench upgrades) and Gunsmith for repairing guns and unlocking Renegade, which is a good PVE weapon.

• IMO, Your first 11 skill points should go to : 1 in Nimble Climber, 5 in Marathon Runner and 5 in Youthful Lungs.  This will give you more stamina to make gameplay smoother.  This won’t really matter in a week as you’ll get a full skill tree reset when the big October 8th Patch hits, so don’t stress.
• Especially early game, In-Round Crafting is very useful for crafting basics and Looter’s Instinct makes looting faster which equals quicker XP.  Broad shoulders is also a must IMO to avoid being overencumbered.

• Save any Tech Mods!  Anvil Splitters and (maybe) Kinetic Converters are being replaced by the AMPlified weapon system.  They will be collectables or at worse can be recycled for Research materials on October 8th.
• Use the PVE Toggle during the test from October 13th - 20th.  The loot value is lower, but if you hate the chance of PVP try the new mode out.  The Fill Squad option for doing the Harvestor and Matriarch might be the best new way to do those bosses in a group.

Looting Pain Points Specific Tips:

• Mushrooms are easy now thanks to Riven Tides, just loot along the Dry Riverbed.  It is possible to get the 12 you need in one raid if lucky.
• Spaceport parking lot behind Arrival has several trees for Apricots and Lemons.  Lemons are also easy from trees in Marano Park and by Grandiose Apartments in Buried City.
• Prickly Pears are abundant at Victory Ridge on Dam where the EMP Trap quest takes you.  There are also a few clusters by the small outbuilding by Research Admin and by the Field Depot by the Water Treatment Extract.  Lastly by the road in front of Pale Apartments.
• Light Bulbs are a 100% spawn from the “Forklifts” in Stella Montis Lobby.
• Rusted Tools from red toolbox in Robotic Sandbox Control Room or Buses by North Complex Elevator extract on Dam
• Rusted Gears - Green breach electrical panels ground floor Loading Bay Stella Montis, Breach Generators on Riven Tide by the Stacking Yard, Dam Controlled Access Zone.
• Dog Collar, Cat Bed, Comfortable Pillow - Red Tower Buried City
• Sentinel Firing Cores are hard to find when you need them.  Your best bets are looting crashed Couriers and looking for Sentinels on Riven tides (stacking yard), Spaceport (Arrival/Container storage) or Dam (Breach/Research Admin)

Blueprint specific Tips:

• Blueprints for Guns and Gun Parts come from raider style containers so loot weapon cases, ammo boxes, med bags, raider backpacks, raider caches and security breach lockers.
• Augment blueprints come from medical containers and the black containers/lockers.  Popular spots are Medical in Stella Montis, Hospital on Buried City, Testing Annex on Dam, Reinforced reception breach room on Blue Gate and the black containers in Security in Stella Montis.
• Blue and Pink tier attachment blueprints come from Major map conditions so loot during, Electro-magnetic storm, Hidden Bunker, Hurricane and Locked Gate.
• Some blueprints spawn in specific maps or map conditions:
  • Stella Montis : Deadline, Seeker Grenade, Pulse/Gas mine, Trailblazer, Aphelion
  • Equalizer/Jupiter : Harvester puzzle
  • Riven Tides: White Flag, Powered Descender, Crash Mat
  • Hidden Bunker: Vulcano
  • Locked Gate: Bobcat
  • Night Raids: Wolfpack, Tempest
  • Electromagnetic Storm: Surge Coil, Snaphook
  • Close Scrutiny Assessors: Dolabra
  • Hurricane caches: Canto, Tempest, Vulcano, Bobcat

Do you have any other expedition tips?  Did I miss anything you would like to know?  This is my 5th Expedition and over the resets, I have got my leveling from 1-75 speed down to about 5 days (35hrs in-game time).

(To start I have not had this happen to me I’m not dumb trying to run in and 1v1 the queen with a crazy kit I am also not against PvP I’m a very heavy PvP player in duos/trios and only really play solos when i want to play the new updates/grind out some materials)

I’ve seen at least 12 people just today while grinding cores for my stash upgrade of people in decent kits getting downed to arc and rats running up throwing smoke and knocking them out its crazy

How sad do you really have to be to not even be able to even pve (if you knock somone out that got downed by arc u don’t get put further into pvp lobby’s)

You honestly can't make this up. I spent days hunting for the Anvil blueprint, and yesterday someone from the community was generous enough to donate one to me.

I load into a match on Dam Battlegrounds today searching for other blueprints, and what do I find sitting in a container out in the wild? A second Anvil blueprint!

Praise the Omnissiah! he really waited until the exact moment I didn't need it anymore to finally drop a second copy right at my feet.

Honestly, I am absolutely loving this game and these hilarious antics. Moments like this make this game so much fun. Keeping this extra one in my stash as a trophy for now! Don't skip those containers on Dam Battlegrounds!

The vault grind was kind of fun, but for the next expedition it would be sick if they can create unique quests that progress the lore and wins you vault slots.

Money, materials, weapons and my patience have been depleted. On to the last expedition for a while ladies and gents.

And have tiers. Topside we see the regular outpost where you delivery the fuel cells. Then theres decayed taller ones, with spiral staircases. Also the much larger style, like where you find celestes journal entries

Build - upgrade - upgrade

Give me a reason to hunt for a lot of metal, plastic and rubber. Durable cloth, some humidifiers, a toaster, portable tv...you know, a lot of that random stuff that already exists in game, before decorating with trinkets and guns.

Another permanent project to go along with the trophy display, that is there for new players as they join.

This is my 4th expedition and just want to talk about tips for reset in case people didn’t know any new ones. During tutorial before breaching the door if you drop everything you can pick it up after the cutscene, if you don’t drop everything they will most your items.

Another tip I would like to confirm is, if you go on a raid right at the time of expedition I believe you keep what is in your inventory although I’m not sure about that anymore. I feel like I did it one expedition reset but doubt it because if that is the case I’ll go into a raid with a full backpack.

i am a avid pvp enjoyer but the thought of not having any real threat makes me curious on what load outs some people may bring. I was always on my toes for PVP so i bought in the minimal that i could on solos. Anvil mark 2 light shield 3 greens and 3 rechargers if i am just looting.

now i am probably going to rock an tina because why not? i am going to run snap hook every single game and i am going to bring like 300 rounds and a lot of defibs. and a min of 10 bandos and 10 recharger and probably medium shield x2.. i don't remember the last time i was downed by arc so why not?

How is your loadout going to change in the PVE games?

I still had 69 Trigger Nades left. So I thought I would try something. Other people have probably already done it too.

I had that with me as well. I think one Raider fired about 3 hullcracker shots, otherwise nothing.
