10k-30k Miles & Noise Still There After Strut Replacement — Dealer Blowing Off Fix/Warranty?
Hey everyone, looking for advice on how to handle a persistent issue with my dealership before my factory warranty runs out.
I reported a noticeable suspension/underbody noise at around 10,000 miles. After multiple visits and endless back-and-forth, the service department finally claimed it was the struts and replaced them. I just picked up the car today, and literally on the drive home from the dealership, the exact same noise was still there. It’s completely disheartening—it makes me wonder if the technician even bothered to sign off on a proper test drive after "fixing" it.
I'm now past 30,000 miles. Given the timeline, I'm genuinely worried they are just dragging their feet and throwing quick parts at it until I cross the 36,000-mile mark so they can wash their hands of it once the bumper-to-bumper warranty expires.
At this point, I’m feeling completely lost and frustrated.
Has anyone dealt with a situation like this where a documented issue persists right up to the warranty limit?
Should I start looking into Lemon Law / legal counsel, or involve corporate directly first?
What documentation or steps do I need to take right now to protect myself and ensure this gets covered even if I pass 36k miles?
Any advice or similar experiences would be hugely appreciated!
8/31/2026 Update on the issue:
After multiple visits where the problem wouldn't replicate during a joint test drive, the technician finally confirmed the low-speed issue during his test drive to root cause the issue.
Diagnosis & Next Steps
Root Cause: Leaking front struts.
Resolution: Replaced front struts (currently on backorder).
Major kudos to the service advisor for her patience, persistence, and thoroughness in getting this properly diagnosed.
