My wife's earring fell through the small gap between the outer and inner drum of my washing machine. How do I get it out without completely disassembling the washing machine. The earring is nonmagnetic and not a closed loop.

How to remove a paper sticker from shirt

Does anyone know how to remove a paper sticker from a shirt that's been put in the washer?

It's one of those peel and stick paper label type stickers..

I forgot it was still on the shirt and I washed it, I didn't put it in the dryer whether that helps remove it or not.

Any recommendations? The shirt is a blend of cotton and polyester (for reference swipe for a second picture)

DIY How to fix this chain?

I don’t know where this single chain goes, the chains are double connected so it’s difficult to figure out where goes what. The pair of chains at the top- we can exclude that if it doesn’t affair the formation of the chain.

Problems with new washing machine

Hi Reddit!

I just bought a new washing machine and it got delivered to me just today. I have 2 issues now and I would love to hear advice.

1) Faucet picture.

I just bought the metal part at the end of the water hose. It fits and it seems the right size. However, if I open the faucet it leaks. Water comes done along the pipe. What could be the issue.

2) Drain Hose.

I just inserted the hose in that one tube that was there in the wall. It fits tightly but I'm not sure if that's enough. There is no other piece to screw or mount. Is there something else that I should do or it's as simple as inserting one into the other?

Thanka

Waterproof small hole on coat.

I bought a waterproof jacket at the weekend, it is a good brand but was in a discount store for end of line items so it was very cheap.

Unfortunately the shop put the swing tag through the taped seam at the back of the neck, leaving a hole about 1mm wide. Because of the location this will let in water in heavy rain.

Looking for suggestions for options to help seal this up. Ideas I had based on what I have available. Don't really want to spend much money on such a cheap jacket:

Tiny blob of epoxy.

Tiny blob of super glue.

Some Barbour waterproofing wax rubbed over the area and into the hole.

A small piece of electrical tape.

Serious Answers Only Help! How do I get this LED centerpiece out of “Try Me” mode?

Post image
• Upvotes

I just bought this LED faux Christmas centerpiece from Kohl’s and I’m having trouble getting the lights to work normally.
The tag says “Pull out Try Me wire to work” but there was no wire sticking out. I removed the sticker, but the lights still don’t work unless I push the button. The battery is the small round/coin type.

Does anyone know how to get it out of Try Me mode? I’m wondering if the wire was supposed to be there and mine is missing, or if I’m missing something obvious.

How to attach this flimsy wire shelf to the wall so it doesn’t fall over?

I think it could be a good shelf and hold lots of toilet paper and clean towels if it were attached to the wall or something. As it is, it seems like a breeze will knock it over.

Very bad instructions. The thin pieces on the brackets. Are they supposed to slide under the joints like I’ve done? Or are they supposed to just sit. Why would they sit alone like the instructions?

Bought this cute clock off ebay that said it was tested but didn't work when I got it. Opened it up to find that the wire was detached from one side of battery contact. I don't want to buy a solder to fix it, is there a way to do reattach without it?

How do you test a home gym layout before committing to where all the equipment goes?

I’m trying to figure out the best way to test a home gym layout before everything gets too heavy and annoying to move again.

A floor plan can show whether equipment technically fits, but it doesn’t really tell you whether there’s enough room to load plates, move a bench, use attachments, walk around the rack, or actually perform the exercises comfortably.

I’m thinking about marking equipment footprints on the floor with tape first and then checking the space needed around them before committing.

For anyone who has planned a home gym from scratch, how did you test the layout before putting everything in its final position?

Serious Answers Only Bottom drawer still catches after I tightened the rest of the dresser. What should I check?

I have a six-drawer wooden dresser I bought around 2020. After two moves, two handles had started spinning and the frame wobbled whenever I opened a top drawer. I tightened the loose hardware with the HOTO tool set I keep for apartment fixes, and those problems are mostly gone.

The bottom drawer still catches about halfway out. The slide on one side looks slightly bent, but I haven't removed the drawer yet, so I can't tell whether the runner is damaged or just out of alignment.

Before I order replacement slides, is there a good way to tell the difference? If a slide does need replacing, would you normally replace both sides as a pair? I'd rather repair this dresser than get rid of it over one stubborn drawer.

Serious Answers Only Product for wall/ceiling seams?

Thumbnail

Hello! I have a manufactured home with battens to cover seams. I do not have the funds or skillset to redo the walls or trim (I will attempt to nail them in a bit better in spots where it’s truly bad) but I feel like if I could carefully fill in the cracks between the battens and the wall/ceilings with some kind of caulk, it would draw the eye less and cease to bother me. What product would do well for this? Please do not answer a question I didn’t ask or attack my home, TIA for any helpful responses!

Serious Answers Only How to rescue Wally/Waldo?

Out of all the pieces it’s Wally/Waldo who is stuck in the gap of the tube of this Find It game. He won’t budge. Can anyone think of how I can un-wedge him? I don’t think the caps can come off without snapping the outer tube.
I already tried putting it in the freezer lol

How do I get my standing lamp to stand again?

I love this lamp but was in survival mode when it broke so to the basement it went. Now 3 years later I’m ready to tackle the basement fixits. Piece’s are obviously missing but I have no clue what they are. Also there were crumbles of something, maybe concrete? No electrical issues, just needs stabilizing. Thank you!

How to reinforce door?

Had a deadbolt & door plate-thingy on. They used a flat head screwdriver and got in. The plate wasn't too banged up but the deadbolt won't lock now. Is this able to be reinforced or maybe wood filler?
